I can’t believe our little Deja is
2 months old!! We went to the
doctor on Monday and everything is looking normal. Her Stats were as follows: Head Circumference-15.3 (52%),
Length-22.8 inches (65%), and Weight-12.63lbs (89%!!!!) She's our little plumpster
and I love it! At her two-week
appointment she weighed a little over 8 lbs and was at the 48%, so it really is
quite a jump from then. I’m going
to have to bring out her 3-6 month clothes early I’m sure!! Deja’s tear ducts still haven’t opened
up yet. We’re hoping they will in
the next couple months, because if they don’t we’ll probably have to get
surgery for them (around 8 months or so) So for now we wash out her eyes pretty regularly and massage
in between her nose and the corner of her eye, poor thing. At the doctor she also got 3
shots. She took ‘em like a champ,
but was a pretty ornery girl for the rest of the day. She didn’t eat very well, and slept a ton, but then she was
up half the night last night.
Gotta love it!!
We
love our little girl and it’s fun getting to know her personality. She makes great faces and is starting
to coo and have baby conversations with us. Occasionally, in the middle of her feedings all she wants to
do is talk to me instead of eat. I love looking into her bright blue eyes when we
have our chats. My half of the
conversation usually consists of words of encouragement for her to keep
eating.
One
thing that most people always comment about Deja is her awesome hair. I knew
her hair was pretty special and crazy from the start, but it’s funny to look at
pictures of John and I as babies because although we both had hair, it was
nothing like her spiky rocker tresses!!
I still haven’t attempted styling it at all. I’m kind of afraid if I touch it too much it’s going to fall
out, even though I think we’re past that point. When I do get brave, I’ll post pictures. Her strands are about 1½ inches, and I
feel like they’ve been that same length since she was born.

We
have a couple nic-names for Deja.
We call her Deja-Lou, Deja-Ray, Baby-Day, Deja-doodle, etc. She loves it, ok maybe she hates it,
but we love it
The other night I was going to feed
Deja, and usually before I do, I say something like “Are you ready to eat?” or
“Are you ready to be fed?” But since
it was late all that came out was, “Are you ready to be eaten?” Of course John heard me loud and clear
and couldn’t stop laughing for like 10 minutes. It was pretty great. We love being parents.
We'll see if this video works! This was the first time she had really acknowledged the mirror on the swing and she just thought it was the greatest thing in the world :)
In other news John has been driving the Honda to work lately
because it’s a two door car and the carseat fits better in his car. Anyway the
other day after he got home we looked out the window to see the car like this…
The car was parked in our driveway… not the neighbors, which
it may look like (this pic is taken from our front door). It took a 180
Degree turn in slow motion and we only wish we could have seen it happen! He
may have forgotten to put on the parking break... Tender mercy that there weren't any cars driving past, AND our neighbors almost ALWAYS have a car parked behind our driveway and it just
so happened that they didn’t when it this all went down!!!
Also I’ve been doing some cleaning in preparation for my
parents to get home and found this little beauty in a box in the garage.
Don’t worry it’s just 9 months old, leftover from my sisters
wedding!!! It is gluten free
though if anyone’s interested... and hard as a rock, but still looks oh so elegant!! So elegant that I had to take at least 3 pictures of it before throwing it out for good ;)
